June 19th – Drive-in movie night

The city of McKinney presents “The Goonies” at a drive-in movie night. The film is rated PG and runs for 114 minutes. Outside food and beverages are allowed, and to-go alcohol from downtown McKinney restaurants and wineries is permitted. Attendees must remain in their vehicles. Lawn chairs or blankets on the ground are not permitted. To view all the rules and more details, click here. 7:30 p.m. (gates open), 8:30 p.m. (movie begins). $6 (per person for age 13 and older). June 20, 27 and July 18, 25 – Sizzling Summer Saturdays

Trinity Falls’ Sizzling Summer Saturdays begin June 20 and invite the public to its model home park. Food trucks and model home tours will be provided. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. 705 Lost Woods Way, McKinney. www.trinityfalls.com

July 4 – Red, White & Boom

The city of McKinney invites the community to a patriotic drive-thru parade and a fireworks display. To celebrate the holiday while maintaining social distancing, the Fourth of July parade will be held in a drive-thru setting. Floats will be stationary and set up in designated spots throughout historic downtown McKinney. Guests can drive by and enjoy the floats from the safety of their vehicles.

In the evening, the city will have a fireworks show at the Craig Ranch Soccer Complex. The parade will be held from 9-11 a.m. in historic downtown McKinney. Gates for the fireworks open at 8:30 p.m. and the show starts at 9:30 p.m. at 6375 Collin McKinney Parkway. The event is free, but parking is limited. www.mckinneytexas.org/830/red-white-and-boom

July 11 – McKinney Margarita Stroll

As part of the McKinney Summer Sip + Stroll series, guests are invited to support McKinney’s small businesses. Participants will receive a Margarita Stroll taster, a map to direct them on their journey around downtown McKinney and a variety of cold beverages. Tickets are limited to maintain social distancing. Arrival times and starting locations will be registered when tickets are purchased to help spread people out. 1-7 p.m. $30 per ticket, or $25 if registering for the entire series. July 18 – Summer drive-in concert series

The McKinney Performing Arts Center partners with TUPPS brewery to present the first summer drive-in concert series. The series starts July 18 with a concert by Farewell Angelina. Other performances are scheduled in August and September. 9 p.m. Tickets for all three shows are available for a total of $99 if purchased before June 27.
